Carolina Lewis
Carolina Lewis was the 23-year-old niece of Chris Lewis, the former New Zealand tennis player and Wimbledon finalist. Ms. Lewis died unexpectedly during a trip with her family to Washington, DC, on September 16.
Born to a family of talented tennis players, Carolina, as well as her younger sister Jade, 20, plays tennis (LSU), so did their father David Lewis, and certainly, you all know her uncle’s story.
“Carolina, may your beautiful soul Rest In Peace forever, and may your wonderful and loving family find some peace on this earth now that you have left us,” Chris said.
Carolina Lewis was born on July 28, 1995, in Auckland, New Zealand to Rosaria and David Lewis.
She graduated from Heritage Academy in Hilton Read, South Carolina and subsequently in 2018, with a major in journalism from Kansas State. Prior to Kansas State, Carolina attended West Virginia. She was a member of the girls’ tennis team.

On the morning of September 16, 2019, my sister, Carolina Lewis, unexpectedly passed away during a trip in Washington, D.C. Carolina came from a strong Italian and Kiwi background, and she was an avid traveler.”
“Carolina graduated this past May from Kansas State University where she played tennis and excelled in academics. She had dreams of being a sports journalist and her near goals were to return to Europe and complete her masters.”
“Carolina recently worked the US Open and her dream was to always work in New York City.”
