Russian Tennis player Ekaterina Makarova has reached semifinals at the US Open after sinking Victoria Azarenka! The No17 seed, Ekaterina older by a year and just one spot lower in the rankings, won handsomely after a grueling midday struggle on Arthur Ashe, 6-4, 6-2, in just under an hour and a half. She next faces the winner of Serena Williams or Flavia Pennetta.

There’s no wonder Ekateria or “Kate” to make it shorter, is giving her all, during an interview she stated her favorite tournament is no other than the US Open, and she is certainly doing whatever she can to go all the way.
