Barbora Strýcová Bio
Barbora Strýcová is a Czech professional tennis player. She reached a career-high ranking of world No.7 on the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings on July 8, 2019. Her greatest achievement to date was reaching the Wimbledon women’s singles final in 2019, where she lost to Simona Halep in three sets.
Strýcová first started to excel at tennis when she was a teenager, winning her first ITF title at the age of 15 in 2003. She went on to win two more ITF titles before making her WTA debut in 2005. Over the years, Strýcová has grown into one of the top players on tour; she has won 11 WTA singles titles and 5 doubles titles.
She has also made several Grand Slam quarterfinals appearances and consistently competes at the biggest tournaments around the world. In addition to these achievements, Strýcová reached a peak ranking of No. 7 in 2019 and became the oldest Grand Slam women’s singles finalist since Martina Navratilova in 1994 when she reached the Wimbledon final that same year.
Off court, Strýcová is an ambassador for UNICEF and is heavily involved with their projects worldwide. Her philanthropic efforts have included providing assistance to children affected by disasters as well as raising awareness about childhood nutrition, education and protection from exploitative labor practices such as child slavery.
In 2020, Barbora Strýcová was honored with an Order of Merit by Czech President Miloš Zeman for her commitment to humanitarian work and numerous successes on court over the years.

He started his career as an editor with Leko Media Group; subsequently worked for Welt Online, Euro am Sonntag and Stern, and contributed with the Dandydiary.de blog.
Later on, Matejcek was the editor in chief for Proc Ne and a journalist for Tydenik Euro; He also worked for Hospodarske noviny, before joining Elle Magazine on May 1, 2018.
These two are no longer together as Barbora Strýcová married Jakub Zahlava, a former tennis player, and cousin to Sandra Zahlannova; unfortunately, they divorced in 2015. Barbora announced she was expecting her first child on March 26, 2021
